Why do you have fear?

Psalm 27, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?"

God has given us power to fight fear. You have the power to exercise your faith. He did not give us a spirit of fear. II Timothy 1:7 states, “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” With God’s help, you can face whatever challenges you encounter today. Sometimes circumstances or situations seem to be out of control. You may be experiencing harsh economic situations and other challenges in your life today. It may seem like the conditions of life are working against you and you cannot seem to get ahead. Just encourage yourself and know that God is still on the throne. Nothing that is happening now took him by surprise. When you feel like you have reached the end of your rope, hold on tighter. Your blessing could be right around the next corner. The Lord will sustain you and strengthen you until your change comes.

God gives each of us a measure of grace and faith and you can handle your situation. Paul asked the Lord 3 times to remove the thorn in his flesh. II Corinthians 12:7-9 states, “And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for thee; for my strength is made perfect in weakness…”

Just remember that the battle is not yours to fight. It is the Lord’s battle. He will give you the grace to deal with your situation. Just know that he is working on your behalf. We as humans let each other down, but you can depend on God. He won’t leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). His love for us is higher than we can even comprehend. His love for us is so great that he sent his Son Jesus to purchase our redemption. Recommit yourself to the Lord and wait on him. Hold on your change is on the way!
