                          Outreach Ministry

We have a number of outreach functions at our church.  They include our Benevolence Ministry, Outreach Missions, Mentorship Program, and Helping Hands to name a few.  Our Helping Hands Ministry assists those in the community who are under tough economic times.  This ministry also operates our annual canned goods drive.  Additionally, we serve the community through our clothing drive to provide assistance to those who require clothing.  We assist those in need during the holiday with the Toys for Tots program.  We collect toys and clothing to present them to families in need.  We sponsor an annual Community Day that affords us another opportunity to fellowship with the community in a safe, family-friendly environment and to engage them as we display God’s love to them.  Our Outreach Missions Department visits individuals in nursing homes and gives them a sense of hope and encouragement.  We support the families in the community with our back-to-school drives and school supplies giveaway.

Nursing Home Visits

Our deacons, ministers, and elders visit the nursing homes and seek to uplift the sick and shut ins every month.  They uplift those who are housed there and provide comfort, bible reading, and minister to them in song.

Safe Night

Calvary United Church participates in the Safe Night Project.  We serve as a safe haven for homeless individuals during the months of November and December.  We house them for a week at the church in a safe, dry, warm environment.  This project is coordinated through the local Social Services Department.  Calvary United Church has participated in the program for the past six years.

Toys
Toys for Tots

Calvary United Church participates in the annual Toys for Tots" toy drive during Christmas.  Each year, we  select several families and provide toys and clothing to the family.
