Meet our Pastor, Overseer  Fields

From his depths, Overseer Michael is a worshipper. His most solemn embrace of the Gospel is mastered by his conviction to the scripture given in Psalms 34:1, "I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth". His passion and determination to finish his course with victory has made that Scripture an essential focus of his life.

Since his childhood, Overseer Michael has been a loyal and active member of the Calvary United church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic) in Sunderland, Maryland.  Over the years, he worked as a servant in the ministry as a choir director, deacon, president of the local brotherhood, minister, assistant to the Pastor, and Pastor.  Recently, he was promoted to Overseer.  He has been influenced by many individuals, to include, his natural father.  The death of his father left a void; however, Bishop Lincoln Berry stepped in and filled that void. Bishop Berry groomed and mentored him.  Together, they spent countless hours praying, talking, learning, and sharing a very special bond.  Bishop Berry became a "Spiritual Father in the Gospel" to him.  Bishop encouraged him to keep the faith and to diligently study the Bible.

Overseer Michael received his early education in the public school system. He later attended the Baltimore County Community College and the Washington Bible College at Howard University where he received his Undergraduate Degree.  Overseer Michael formally began his theological studies at the United Institute of Biblical Studies at the Transformation Church in Baltimore, MD. There, he studied Church History, Sermon Preparation, and Old & New Testament texts along with other fundamentals. He continued his pursuit of education with studies in Theology at Howard, University, Washington, DC.

Bishop Berry passed the mantel of leadership for Calvary United Church to him.  He was honored to be installed as the Presiding Pastor of Calvary United Church.  Overseer Michael is married to Lady Jessica and has two children.
