I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. Philippians 4:13

Sometimes we are bombarded with difficult challenges and face overwhelming situations.  We don’t serve a God who doesn’t feel our pain so to speak.  When we are weak, Jesus makes us strong.  It is not like he doesn’t know about pain and suffering.  The Bible says that Jesus  experienced similar fears, sadness, pain, and disappointments when he walked the earth.  So, we are not alone and don’t serve a God that does not have compassion or empathy for us.  Is it possible that Jesus allowed you to experience certain situations to build your faith and to equip you to face them and deal with more challenging obstacles that will surely come in the future?

Psalm 27:1 states, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?  The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

When there is nothing else to say and life has worn you out, what can you do and where do you turn?   When we are weak, God makes us strong.   We should follow King David’s example in 1 Samuel 30:6, when he encouraged himself in the Lord his God.  He lost everything, but he reflected on where God brought him from and the many dangerous situations God rescued him out of.  At that point, his faith increased and he regained his courage and recovered all that was taken from him.

Isaiah 40:29 states, “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might increase strength.  The joy of the Lord is our strength.

When you don’t know what else to say, what do you say?  Pray and speak life into the

situation.   God’s Word is alive and brings life to any situation.  Hebrews 4:12 states, “For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”  He hears our prayers.

When our strength is gone. Jesus picks us up.  Because he lives, we can face tomorrow. Jesus holds the future in his hands.  He doesn’t need to ask anyone about the future.  He knows the future.  There is nothing that happens to us that catches God by surprise.  Just remember when you feel like your strength is gone, speak the Word.
