Are you still connected to the branch? John 15:4 states, “Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” You have a role to play in the body of Christ. Romans 12:4-5 states, “For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many are one body in Christ, and every one member one of another.” Are you fitly joined to the body of Christ? If you are not connected, you will not be a productive member of the body.
Life moves at a breathtaking pace. Often, you may need to take inventory of your life and how you are living your life. It is time to slow down and prioritize the most important aspects of your life. God cannot talk to you when you are too busy to listen to him. Take a few minutes and ask yourself if you are doing the things that keep you connected to God. Are you reading his word, praying, fasting, attending church, studying, and meditating on his word? What is your purpose and are you walking in that purpose for your life? Are you using your gifts and talents for his glory?
If your answers to these questions are no, you may be in danger of losing your connection to the Lord. If you are not connected to him, you jeopardize your opportunity to fulfill his purpose for your life. The good news is that you can always reconnect to God. Put God first in your life and be available to him. You can restart by doing those basic functions again. Begin your devotionals with him in prayer and meditation. Make your relationship with God a priority. Know your limitations. Life is too hard for you to try to shoulder the weight of the trials and challenges you face. He understands the difficulties you face. He is able to help you. Psalm 46:1 states, “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” Ask God to help you and get back in the race and live out your purpose!
