Life can be full of sadness, challenging, difficult, and unpredictable. In those times, we need to encourage ourselves. In the Bible, David became so discouraged in his life.

In 1 Samuel 30:6, the Bible states, “And David was greatly distressed; for the people spoke of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.”

You can look back over your life and see where God has brought you and made ways for you. When things seemed impossible, he came through for you. Without him, we can accomplish nothing, but with him we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us as stated in Philippians 4:13. Use those victories to increase your faith and wait for your change to come. Psalm 27:14 states, “Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say on the Lord.”

God has not lost any of his power. His word is true. When he make a promise, we can stand on t. It must come to past. We need to ensure that our lives line up with his word. We are not perfect, but we are called to live holy lives. We must pray without ceasing, read his word, and follow his guidance for our lives. We need to spend time with him and build up our spiritual faith. Today, decide to recommit to him and do those things he called you to do as follower of Christ.
