Matthew 28:5-6 – And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.
Easter is one of the most important days in the year. During Holy Week we celebrate the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Holy Week culminates in the resurrection of Jesus from the dead on the third.
Jesus knew that he would have to suffer and die to fulfill his mission here on earth. John 15:13 states, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” He received the sentence that we deserved. We had a death sentence, but Jesus paid the price for us. He loved us so much. He willingly went to the cross and paid the ultimate price for you and me. He bore our sins, endured pain, and suffered on the cross for you and me. God raised him from the dead on the third day.
Jesus’ redemptive work on the cross allows us to go to the Father who is full of grace and mercy. Jesus tore down the wall that separated us from a Holy God. Mark 15:37-38 states, “And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost.” “And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom.” There is no longer a need to sacrifice animals for sin. Jesus was the perfect, sinless sacrifice. Hebrews 10:12 states, “But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down on the right hand of God.”
All things are possible with God. If we trust in him and follow him, he will give us eternal life. We just need to get in the will of God and let him direct our lives.
During this season of resurrection, you may have something you need to have revived in your life. It could be your family, your dreams, ministry, or marriage. Whatever it is put it in God’s hands and make him the center of your life. Focus on your goals and ask him to help you. There is nothing that is too hard for God. Jeremiah 32:27 states, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?”
If you don’t know him and the power of his resurrection, now is the time to accept him into your heart. This is the perfect time to take stock of your life and decide to change those areas where you know that you fall short. God is full of mercy and grace. He is available to help you in all aspects of your life.
