And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. Luke 2:10
Matthew 1:18 - "Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost."
Matthew 1:21 - "And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins. "
This year as we celebrate another joyous Christmas and New Years, remember the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas is a celebration of the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The actual day of Jesus's birth can be debated. However, the most important point is that Jesus was born. God loved us so much until he sent his son, Jesus to redeem us and to save us from our sins. The Prophet Isaiah prophesized about the birth of Jesus over 700 years before he was born as stated in Isaiah 9:6, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.
With so many pressing matters, conflicts, diseases, and natural disasters occuring in the world, God protected us. We must give thanks to him for allowing us to see another year. We may be experiencing some challenging situations in our lives and may not be where we want to be, but God is with us. He is still in control and all power rests with him! All that we need is in Jesus. Just call on him and he will answer our prayers. He is present help us each day and his mercies are new each morning.
